“Observing the boldness of Peter and John and perceiving them to be uneducated, ordinary men, the leaders, elders, and scribes were amazed.” Christianity was spread by uneducated, ordinary men and women. What they had was not education but a life-defining experience. They encountered the risen Jesus and they knew that there was no more cause for fear in the world. They were anxious to spread the message so the everyone could come to know that a life full of love, free from fear was possible. So often we find ourselves reluctant to talk about the place that Jesus has in our hearts. Who are we to talk about Jesus, we’re just ordinary blokes? But the Acts demonstrates that the ordinary people get the ball rolling.
