Jesus was “meek and humble of heart.” He was full of love and compassion. With all of that he was not reluctant to pronounce a “woe” on those who needed to hear it. He warned his contemporaries when he thought they merited warning. All of which serves as a reminder that sometime the loving thing requires that you pronounce a “woe” on this person or situation. When you love someone you do not allow them to continue down a path which is harmful. In love you call them back to the right. As important as affirmation can be in helping others, Jesus demonstrated that there are times and situations when it is vital that you say “woe” is coming if you don’t change your ways.
