APRIL32026

April 3, 2026 By Church Staff

Jesus answered, “For this I was born and for this I came into the world, to testify to the truth. Everyone who belongs to the truth listens to my voice.” Pilate said to him, “What is truth?”  The Pilates of the world have taken over. Alternate facts, truthiness, the admission that a claim is made to get attention despite its being false, the assertion that the role of politics is to create its own reality all bear witness to the casual way that truth is treated in modern discourse. Of course, for Jesus at the supreme moment of his life, the truth mattered. The truth that God so loved the world that he sent his only son, that love is stronger than death, that everyone is a child of God, made in God’s image and likeness, that it is better to give than to receive were the foundations which enabled Jesus to face this executioner with courage. On this Good Friday what are the truths you are willing to die for?
