The prophet Habakkuk wrote during a time of great distress for Israel. The nation was defeated, the people were exiled, the temple was destroyed. In the midst of great suffering he offers a vision of hope from God. “Write down the vision: For the vision still has its time, presses on to fulfillment, and will not disappoint; If it delays, wait for it, it will surely come, it will not be late.” When we experience personal difficulty or distress about the state of the nation or the church we must remember that God isn’t finished with us yet. Just as God was with Israel even in the midst of their woes, God is with us. The plan of God is for our life and happiness.
