Join us in praying for the needs of our community.
St. James Common Prayer
Good and Gracious God, We ask your blessing on us as we gather in your name. Make us a Eucharistic people filled with thanksgiving for your life in, and among us. Make us holy by your word and sacrament and in the ways you call us to give witness to your radical love. Set our hearts on fire for the work of justice and strengthen our commitment to care for those in need, both in our neighborhood and our world. We ask this in the name of Jesus who leads, inspires and promises to be with us forever. And to this we say, AMEN.
Prayer for Evangelization
Eternal Father, we ask you, through your Son Jesus Christ, and the intercession of Mary Immaculate, Star of the New Evangelization, to pour forth your Holy Spirit upon St. James. Through the gift of the Holy Spirit, renew and transform us, and make fruitful the work of evangelization.
Root us deeply in the heart of your Son so that we may radiate him more fully, sharing with others the Good News of salvation in Christ, who alone is the fulfillment of all human desiring.
Transform our parish. Make of us shining lights, beacons of hope that reach those who are far from you, drawing them back to your fold. Consecrate us in your truth and accomplish your plans in us according to your holy will. Amen.
