What we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we looked upon and touched with our hands concerns the Word of life. St. John in his epistle tells his readers why they should believe him when he talks about Jesus. He had experiences which convinced him that Jesus was “the Word of Life.” The faith is spread today in same way. We might not have walked the dusty roads of Galilee with Jesus but we heard his word proclaimed in Bible and Church, we have seen his body in the community of faith which gathers in prayer, we have looked upon his real presence in the Holy Eucharist, we have touched him by serving the least of the brothers and sisters.
