The Advent season reminds us of the three ways that Christ comes to us. The first is, of course, the birth of Jesus in Bethlehem many years ago. This season provides the opportunity to reflect on God’s bridging the divide between heaven and earth with the birth of the Messiah. The second coming is in the future when history is completed with the triumph of God and Christ comes again. No matter how things seem to be going, God’s plan is unfolding as it should. The third coming of Christ while not as dramatic as the other two is just as important. That is the daily way Jesus is with us in the Word and in the Sacrament. Open our eyes to see you, Lord!
