When someone approaches me seeking help for some need that they have I remember the words from the Epistle to the Hebrews. “Do not neglect hospitality, for through it some have unknowingly entertained angels.” I help them since they might be angels. When they come up a second and a third time I don’t think they are angels but con men. On further reflection I realize my conception of angel is all wrong. If they are con men how can they be angels? Aren’t angels worthy, full of dignity and beauty! But in the Bible the angel is a messenger. So even the unworthy bring me a message of the need to be kind and compassionate toward all those whose paths you cross in life.
