Jesus went up the mountain and summoned those whom he wanted. He appointed Twelve, whom he also named Apostles. Do you ever wonder about how the followers of Jesus who werent named as one of the Twelve felt? (We know they were there because in the Acts of the Apostles followers who had been with Jesus from the beginning are nominated to replace Judas.) Did they look at those named Apostles and think “I could do a better job than him?” because, as the gospels relate, the Twelve were not the best and brightest. They had to learn, as we all do, that it is a matter of giftedness. God wants us to do what we can with our gifts and not worry about others.
