JULY122017

July 12, 2017 By Church Staff

The New Testament insists that Jesus is “like us in all things but sin.” Well, since learning is a very human activity and it is certainly not a sin, we can be sure that Jesus learned. The Gospels suggest that one thing he learned was the scope of his mission. When he commissions the twelve apostles in St. Matthew’s Gospel he tells them: “Do not go into pagan territory or enter a Samaritan town. Go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” By the end of his life Jesus has learned that his mission is broader than Israel. He tells them “Go and make disciples of all nations” We too learn how God wants us to expand our circle of care.
