JULY142016

July 14, 2016 By Church Staff

Jesus does NOT say, come to me and all your troubles will be taken away. Jesus does NOT say, come to me and your income will increase by 10%. Jesus does NOT say, come to me and the doctor will pronounce a cure. What Jesus says: come to me and let’s make a trade; trade your yoke, your burden, for mine. What is the yoke of Jesus? The yoke of Jesus is trusting that God is smarter than I am, that God’s plan is better than my plan. If I am in charge, if I have to make things come out a certain way that is a heavy burden, a heavy yoke. Letting God be in charge, giving up control, is “easy and light” by comparison.
