The first movie I ever saw was The Ten Commandments. The scene at the Burning Bush was memorable with God’s booming voice and the overwhelming sense of the sacred. However, Cecil B. DeMille missed the key aspect of the scene. Moses said to God, “Who am I” … God answered, “I will be with you.” Moses was able to do all that he did because God was with him. That is our story as well. Who am I to forgive those who have hurt me? Who am I to reach out a hand to those who are hurting? Who am I to be generous to the needy? In ourselves we are limited and fallible but since “God is with us” we can do all things.
