Jesus told the people, “You know me and also know where I am from.” It reminds me of saying back in the day, “I know where you’re coming from” as in “Those bell bottoms are really groovy.” “Yeah man, I know where you’re coming from.” The people could not imagine that could know where God was coming from or that God would know where they were coming from given the vast gulf between humanity and divinity. Jesus bridged that gulf. God does know where we’re coming from. When we are going through a family difficulty, Jesus knows where we’re coming from. When we are experiencing pain and suffering, Jesus knows where we are coming from. When we are feeling alone, isolated, disrespected, abused Jesus knows where we are coming from. He knows us because he went through it himself and bring all that we are to the throne of grace.
