MAY252020

May 25, 2020 By Church Staff

Jesus said, “In the world you will have trouble.”  He got that right! We can simply add the pandemic to the whole list of troubles that plague us in the world: war, racism, urban violence, violence against women, child abuse, poverty, global warming, lack of educational opportunities … I could go on but you get the idea. Jesus is not being Captain Obvious in saying that but reminding us that we don’t face those troubles alone. “Take courage, I have conquered the world.” Jesus did not conquer the world by making all those troubles go away. His conquest was rather fitting the troubles of this world into the larger context of God’s continuing work of salvation so that in the end all will be well.
