Jesus asked the blind Bartimaeus a question: “What do you want me to do for you?” Jesus addresses that same question to us. “What do you want me to do for you?” How do we answer? Bartimaeus asked for a personal healing. “Lord, I want to see.” While there is certainly nothing wrong with seeking personal healing I wonder if Jesus was just a tad disappointed. Could he have asked for something bigger, more comprehensive? World peace? And end to hunger? What about us? Do we think tend to focus on our particular needs or do we bring into our circle of care greater concerns? Take Jesus’ question to prayer today and see what moves in your heart.
