The Church ends the liturgical year by thinking about the future God has in store for us. The book of Revelation provides a Biblical perspective on the end times. The book begins with a series of “letters to the churches.” The author praises and chides the churches about the way they are living the gospel. The admonition to the Church of Ephesus is one we can all take to heart. After praising them for the fidelity and endurance the warning is presented. “I hold this against you: you have lost the love you had at first.” It is easy to simply go through the motions and forget the reason that we do what we do: God has loved us and we love God in return.
