As Jesus drew near Jerusalem, he saw the city and wept over it. Some times all you can do is cry. A child with an incurable disease, a young couple that can’t get pregnant, a beloved parent slipping into dementia — these and hundreds of more situation leave one feeling powerless. All you can do is weep. But as the tears of Jesus demonstrate not all weeping is bad. Yes, you can’t fix what is broken but God is still God. There is a divine plan which assures us that in the end all will be well. We are not at the end yet so we weep. But even in our tears we know that God can make a way out of no way.
