OCTOBER22022

October 2, 2022 By Church Staff

How long, O LORD?  I cry for help but you do not listen! We can relate to the frustration felt by the prophet Habakkuk. If God is in charge why are things going to hell in a handbasket: war in Ukraine, endemic racism, income disparity, global warming, violence in the streets, cancer, mistreatment of immigrants, political gridlock, inflation, homelessness, to name a few of the problems we are experiencing. When the prophet raised his voice to complain God responded.  Then the LORD answered me and said:Write down the vision clearly upon the tablets, so that one can read it readily. For the vision still has its time, presses on fulfillment, and will not disappoint; if it delays, wait for it, it will surely come, it will not be late. In chess they call it seeing the whole board. Instead of just noticing what is happening with this particular piece or at this particular square the grand masters can see the whole board, how all of the pieces are interacting and project a winning strategy. Our vision is limited and the Prophet wants us to continue to have faith that the Grandest Master is at work to bring about a more just and peaceful world.
