“Living the truth in love, we should grow in every way into him who is the head, Christ.” It is easy to get lulled into a certain complacency. We figure we’re doing pretty good and rest content. But St. Paul reminds us we need to “grow” into Christ. We are not set in stone; we are living, organic beings meant to grow and mature. The Apostle tells us that living the truth in love promotes such growth. The truth is that we are precious in God’s sight as beloved children; that every human being is made in the image and likeness of God and therefore is brother or sister to me; that whatsoever we do to the least of God’s people, we are doing to Christ.
