“I am convinced that neither death, nor life … nor any other creature will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” St. Paul wants us to understand that God loves us no matter what we have done, no matter what is done to us, no matter what might happen to us. God’s love is given to us not because of who we are but because of who God is — kind and merciful. At times we might not feel that love when troubles or grief or sinfulness or suffering or loss obscures our vision. But like the sun on a cloudy day or even when it is night the love of God is still there showering blessing upon us.
