Regular Pantry Program
St. James Food Pantry distributes food on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday between the hours of 9:00AM and 11:00AM. If you would like to get help, call 312-842-1919 ext. 215 or visit our pantry during our regular operating hours. The pantry is located at:

Emergency Program
Emergency services are available to all clients with social service referrals. Emergency Food, Infant Formula, and Diapers are provided Monday through Thursday between 9:00AM and 11:00AM.
Lunch Program for Persons without Housing
The Lunch Program began in 2005 to address the needs of people without housing who have no way of cooking or refrigerating food. Lunches are served Monday through Thursday 1:00PM to 3:00PM.
Second Saturday of the Month Pantry Program
St. James Food Pantry participates in the Food Depository's Mobile Pantry program to provide supplemental perishable and non-perishable food products to individuals every Second Saturday of the month, 9:00AM to 11:00AM. This service is designed to ensure that all people in Cook County have access to food during times not typical for food distribution.
Off-Site Food Distribution
Food Delivery Program
The food delivery program for homebound seniors and disabled has been in existence for over 10 years. The program makes our services accessible to homebound seniors living in senior residential buildings in zip codes 60616 and 60605. Food is delivered to seniors and disabled every Wednesday and Thursdays between 10:00AM and 2:00PM. To receive service, call St. James Food Pantry Monday morning (preferable time: 8:00 a.m.) at 312-842-1919 ext. 210.
Social Service Partnerships
St. James Food Pantry collaborates with other social service organizations to assist clients looking for help beyond food.
Oak Street Health
Oak Street Health provides primary care clinics designed for adults with Medicare. Representatives from Oak Street Health are available at the pantry on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month from 9:00AM to 11:00AM.
Pantry Holiday Programs
Thanksgiving Dinner for Seniors
In celebration on Thanksgiving, Seniors and those who have no families are invited to enjoy a Thanksgiving dinner at Illinois Tech on the Sunday before Thanksgiving. Dinners will be delivered to those who cannot attend in person. To sign up for this celebration contact Erin Makowski at 312-842-1919 ext. 206.
Christmas Reception for People without Housing
Each year, the St. James Food Pantry hosts a reception for people without housing on Christmas Day. In addition to a hot lunch and gifts, guests get to celebrate Christmas in the company of their St. James family and friends from 12:00PM to 2:00PM.
Christmas Gift Programs for Families
In partnership with our sharing parishes St. Edna’s in Arlington Heights, Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Glenview, Faith Hope and Charity in Winnetka, and other Friends of St. James, over 300 families receive gifts for Christmas each year.
