In a book called Good to Great Jim Collins says that the first step in making an organization great is having the right people on the bus. You can imagine that as Jesus spent the night in prayer preparing to choose his twelve apostles he was seeking divine guidance in getting the right people. You have to wonder if he was disappointed with the motley crew he ended up with. They never seemed to understand him, they abandoned him at the crucial moment, their leader denied him, and one even betrayed him. Only subsequently was the wisdom of his choices obvious. That is a good reminder to us that when we make a decision after a time in prayer things are still in God’s hands.
