Corinth was a great place for St. Paul to base his missionary operation. In years when the Olympics weren’t being held athletes would gather from all of Greece to compete in the Isthmian Games. Paul had many occasions to utilize his skills a tent-maker. Like Jesus before him, Paul used the common experiences of the people to explain the gospel — not farmers sowing seeds or shepherds and sheep as Jesus did but athletics. Do you not know that the runners in the stadium all run in the race, but only one wins the prize? The Corinthians would get that. To make the gospel come alive today we must draw from our experiences to help people connect with God. What is the spirituality of zoom?
