The spread of Christianity would be unbelievable if it hadn’t happened. The disgraced leader of the movement was executed with nothing to show for his efforts except a handful of “uneducated, ordinary” men and women. Yet, despite violent opposition, within a few generations Christians were widespread throughout the Roman world and within a few centuries were the dominant religion. This was not due to any particular technique or program but simply because those who had come to know Jesus spoke “about what we have seen and heard.” Currently, demographers point out the diminishment of Christianity in the West. The solution is not superior evangelization efforts but for believers to speak of what we hear and see in lives changed by faith and love in Jesus.
