The Book of Wisdom was probably written less than 100 years before the birth of Jesus. Its description of how “the just one” will be treated (or better, mistreated) is prophetic. The motivation for the mistreatment is instructive. He is the censure of our thoughts; merely to see him is a hardship for us. In other words, the just one makes us feel bad. However, as the saying goes, the role of the prophet is to comfort the afflicted and to afflict the comfortable. Jesus fulfilled the prophecy in Wisdom by seeking to get people out of their ruts, to change, to become better for that is what love does. It is the feeling of discomfort that pushes us to change, to be better.
