You can picture it. After all of the drama of the events surrounding Jesus’ suffering and death followed by the encounter with the Risen Lord on Easter Peter and his old fishing buddies from Galilee tried to return to something normal. Peter says, “I am going fishing.” They said to him, “We also will come with you.” But they had no luck. In fact, they found the only way they could fish was when Jesus was with them. The lesson: once you have decided to follow Jesus you can’t go back to the old way of doing things. Everything must be done in light of the presence of Jesus in your lives. Whether at work, play, or home we live as followers of Christ.
