For almost the next month the daily reading will be taken from St. Paul’s first letter to the church of Corinth. This community served as the base of his operations for several years. As we will read, the Apostle was concerned that the Christian community was not living out their faith in Christ as they should. Before he launches into his criticism he begins by praising the Corinthians: I give thanks to my God always on your account for the grace of God bestowed on you in Christ Jesus, that in him you were enriched in every way. That seems like a good strategy for us to adopt. If you are going to correct someone start off by mentioning how much you value them.
