Isn’t it fascinating that Jesus knew his limitations? When asked to solve a dispute he answered, “Friend, who appointed me as your judge and arbitrator?” If Jesus is not in a position to resolve every issue how much less are we able to! Often in life questioned are posed which are beyond our ken. Why do the innocent suffer? Why do the good die young? Instead of wrestling to come up with an answer we should imitate Jesus and recognize that there are things which we cannot solve given our limited understanding. At moments like those we are called to place things in the hand of God. Our Lord promises that being “rich in what matters to God” provides the best chance for a full and fulfilling life.
