AUGUST52025

August 5, 2025 By Church Staff

Sometimes the Bible leaves you with an unanswerable question. For example, where did Cain’s wife come from? In the book of Numbers we find another poser. Miriam and Aaron spoke against Moses on the pretext of the marriage he had contracted with a Cushite woman. Where did Moses find and woo and Cushite? Cush was the land south of Egypt in what is now Ethiopia. It was populated by dark-skinned tribes. Moses is wandering around the Sinai penisula and into what is now the country of Jordan. How did he even meet a Cushite? This suggests to some scholars that the Exodus from Egypt consisted of a much more diverse crowd than the biological children of Jacob. After four hundred plus years in Egypt there was bound to be a mixing of various ethnic groups. All of which serves as a warning that racism is directly contrary to the will and plan of God. We are all children of the same heavenly Father.
