If Jesus were a modern person Matthew 11 might be entitled: haters gonna hate. ‘We played the flute for you, but you did not dance, we sang a dirge but you did not mourn.’ One thing you can be sure of — no matter what you do you are going to be criticized. If they criticized Jesus you can be sure they are going to criticize you. How do we respond when we are criticized? The example of Jesus suggests that we discern what God wants of us and then go full speed ahead. Notice that John the Baptist had very different callings from God about how they were to act. No doubt, each one of us has a unique path as well — just do it!
