DECEMBER102025

December 10, 2025 By Church Staff

A young man in the parish has been having many troubles. He has been seeking some kind of interior peace in the midst of all the difficulties. He poured out his soul to his father who told him, “Once you have peace, all will fall into place.” Ah, the wisdom of the elders. We ordinarily think that once everything falls into place we will have peace. The elders have learned, and teach us, the opposite. One we are at rest in the arms of Jesus, then we can cope with whatever. That what the Prophet Isaiah conveyed to us. Though young men faint and grow weary, and youths stagger and fall, They that hope in the LORD will renew their strength, they will soar as with eagles’ wings.  Jesus wanted us to understand the same thing when he said, “Take my yoke upon you and learn from me … For my yoke is easy, and my burden light.” The yoke of Jesus is trust, trust in the love that God has for us. We often imagine we need things to go a certain way for our happiness. Jesus wants us to understand that no matter how things are going God is with us, God is for us, God will bless us so all will be well. This requires of us a new way of looking at reality — not starting from us but starting from the point of view of God who never fails.
