DECEMBER132024

December 13, 2024 By Church Staff

Jesus said to the crowds: “To what shall I compare this generation?” Nobody likes to be criticized. Jesus shakes his head at the criticism he and his cousin, John the Baptist experienced. It seemed like no matter what you did, you were going to be criticized. People say you’re either a goody-two-shoes or a wild and crazy guy. Of course, being criticized is something we have all experienced. No matter what you do, it’s not going to be the right thing for certain individuals. That is why it is most important that whatever we do flows from our discernment that this is what God wants me to do. What others think about is on them, not on you at that point. There is a poem by Rudyard Kipling with the line: “If you can keep your head when all around you are losing theirs and blaming it on you….” Keep your head focused on the will of God and all will be well.
