What enabled Saint Joseph to trust the dream? I have lots of crazy dreams that if I believed would have me flying like superman or leading the charge into battle. Joseph did not dismiss the angelic message as “another crazy dream” but instead trusted it for what it ways — a divine message. Of course his very name connects Joseph which his Biblical ancestor of the same name who was “the master dreamer.” In our time Dr. King spoke of his dream. What distinguishes a crazy dream from a message from God is the Holy Spirit. If a dream urges you into love, charity, forgiveness, mercy then it is from God and should be observed — there is nothing crazy about living according to the Spirit.
