The promise of the Biblical prophets is that God would care for Israel. The Lord GOD will be gracious to you when you cry out, as soon as he hears he will answer you. What the Bible does not spell out is how that will happen. When we come to Jesus we see that prophetic promise being fulfilled. Jesus went around … curing every disease and illness. But that is not the end of the story. Jesus designates this disciples to continue what he had begun. Jesus summoned his Twelve disciples and gave them authority … to cure every disease and every illness. We too must continue the mission of Jesus. As Teresa of Avila reminded us: “Christ has no body now on earth but yours.”
