Sometimes a word you ordinarily wouldn’t notice makes all the difference. In the story of the Paralyzed Man in the Gospel of Mark we are told when Jesus saw their faith he forgave and healed. It was not the faith of the paralyzed man that moved Jesus but the faith of the four friends who brought him. That says something we all need to take to heart. We are told that we all are meant to be evangelizers, bringing people to Jesus — missionary disciples as Pope Francis words it. We often feel inadequate to the task knowing our own inadequacies and limitations. The four men did not think they were doing anything special in bringing their friend to Jesus but it made all the difference.
