JULY162025

July 16, 2025 By Church Staff

Jesus frequently invoked children as models for believers.  Although you have hidden these things from the wise and the learned you have revealed them to the childlike. One way to think about the image: imagine a mother hears her child crying in the middle of the night. She goes into the room and comforts her child who just had a nightmare. The mother says, “It’s alright. It’s going to be alright.” Since the child knows her mother is trustworthy she trusts in the word of her mother and believes that everything will be all right. That is how we are to relate to God. No matter what nightmarish experience we are going through God wants us to rely on the “gracious will” of God.  We are the children of God and God’s maternal love provides the blessed assurance that all manner of things will be well. Turns out that Bob Marley was a prophet when he sang, “Everything’s gonna be alright.”
