“The time the children of Israel had stayed in Egypt was four hundred and thirty years.” That’s a long time. 430 years ago the English were enjoying their defeat of the Spanish Armada! What would you like to say to your 21-times great-grandfather? The Biblical point is that God always comes on time. Maybe it’s not my time but God’s time is the right time. Often in prayer we are waiting for God to speak, to show us the way, to offer us consolation, to fill us with the Spirit of love. We wait but the well remains dry. We wait with confidence because we know that God always comes on time. But, please God, could you come a little quicker than 430 years for me!
