First it was Ireland, and now Poland. The Catholic Faith which was a given in those countries is waning in importance. In Latin America the presence of the evangelical sects has been happening for some time but in a recent census in Mexico the fastest growing group were “the nones,” those with no religious affiliation. All of which serves as commentary on the statement of Jesus: “Whoever does the will of my heavenly Father is my brother, and sister, and mother.” Biology or nationality are not what make the faith. Fidelity to the will of God is true hallmark of a believer. Our one desire and choice must be to love God with our whole hearts and love our neighbor — all else is talk.
