There are 2,865 separate entries in the Catechism of the Catholic Church. You want an answer, you can look it up. However, Jesus did not teach via the catechism. All these things Jesus spoke to the crowds in parables.
He spoke to them only in parables. What is it about parables that made it the perfect teaching style for Jesus? First, as the parable of the mustard seed and the woman baking bread illustrate, Jesus instructs us to look for God not in the unusual and the dramatic but in the simple and the ordinary. God is found in the garden, in the kitchen. Second, both parables demonstrate that God’s kingdom is not about being the biggest or the best but in showing the potential for growth. Looking for God where love is developing. Third, Jesus does not explain the parable but instead expects the listener to complete the parable for themselves. I have to discern why the kingdom is like a mustard seed to understand the teaching of Jesus. No pre-digested answers here.
