Jesus sent out these Twelve after instructing them: As you go, make this proclamation: ‘The Kingdom of heaven is at hand.” The founder of my religious congregation, Fr. Judge, used to say “every Catholic is called to be an apostle.” Most of us find that prospect a little daunting — I’m just an ordinary bloke. How can the likes of me be an apostle. When you look at the twelve Jesus chose you actually see a bunch of ordinary blokes who share all the faults and failings that we do. Peter was wishy-washy, James and John were hot heads, Matthew was a con man, all of them would argue about who was the greatest. As Jesus could use them, he can use us as well!
