Millennials, the cohort coming into adulthood, are the most ethnically diverse, tend to be tolerant of difference, tend to be confident and are more optimistic about the future of America than other generations. On the other hand, just 56% of younger millennials call themselves Christians and 23% say they have no religion. Only 28% of millennials attend Church regularly. All of which says that younger people seem to have gotten the Biblical message: “It is love that I desire, not sacrifice.” However, by not attending Church millennials are missing the opportunity to discover the value and importance of those who don’t think the same way they do. They easily become like the self-satisfied Pharisee. Church-goers experience as our starting point: ‘O God, be merciful to me a sinner.’
