MARCH282018

March 28, 2018 By Church Staff

The way that Matthew and Mark tell the story in their respective gospels when Jesus announced that one of the twelve was going to betray him, each of them asked “Is it I, Lord?” That says to me that each of them knew they were capable of it. They knew that they were still so full of fears and desires that they might abandon the faith they had in Jesus. That is really our story as well. We are capable of betraying Jesus. Each time we don’t act with mercy, compassion, forgiveness, generosity we are betraying the faith that we have in the life that Jesus holds out for us. These sacred days in front of us provide the opportunity to repent of those betrayals.
