MAY172025

May 17, 2025 By Church Staff

Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you for so long a time and you still do not know me?” Sometimes we don’t see the most important things. It is easy to notice the wars, the violence, the hatred, the injustice. It can cause you think that the world is an ugly place. But those same things existed in the times of Jesus and he challenged his followers to look beyond what was obvious and see how God was present in the midst of everything. That is our prayer challenge for today — not be be discouraged at the negative things but to find encouragement in the divine presence which is all around us. We know something of God when we see parents making sacrifices for their children, when we see people volunteering the time, talent and treasure to care for their less fortunate neighbors, when we see random acts of kindness like taking someone to the store or to Church. We must learn how God is operating in the world today.
