MAY242018

May 24, 2018 By Church Staff

Rick Warren is founding pastor of one of the first mega-churches, Saddleback in Orange County, California. He talks about the fact that even though he has several graduate degrees in theology never in his education were the thousands of Bible verses which deal with issues of social justice and caring for the poor discussed. For example, the epistle of St. James stresses that people must express their faith in how they live. Pastor Warren’s experience serves as a reminder that we tend to pick and choose the articles of faith we want to emphasize. To be true to the truths of the Bible we must be open to the entire message, to those parts which challenge us as well as those that console us.
