I can picture Jesus giving Philip a head slap when he said, “Master, show us the Father, and that will be enough for us.” Don’t you get it, Philip? Open your eyes and see that the love of God is right in front of you. That really is our story as well. I’m reminded of the line from the Wizard of Oz when Dorothy says, “If I ever go looking for my heart’s desire again, I won’t look any further than my own backyard. Because if it isn’t there, I never really lost it to begin with!” Our heart’s desire, the pure love that comes from God is in our own backyard. Today let’s look around and find God who is in our face.
