The Book of Wisdom talks about finding God. The first place to look is in nature. When you see something beautiful you want to know who made it. So with creation, the beauty of creation causes us to look for the creator, to find God. Another avenue for finding God according to the author of the Book of Wisdom is history. When you see how God has acted in history you come to know God as well. “Out of the Red Sea an unimpeded road … over this crossed the whole nation sheltered by your hand.” In our own prayer today we should look to our personal history and see how the hand of God was there protecting and guiding us every step of the way.
