One modern genre of fiction is time travel. The idea: wouldn’t it be great if we could go into the past and see why things happened the way they did or go into the future to see what will be? How about going back in time to meet Jesus! The Bible would dismiss this notion as completely unnecessary. Jesus said, “The God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob is not God of the dead, but of the living, for to him all are alive.” In God, all is the eternal present. Time is a product of creation. Eternity does not mean an extended period of time but timelessness. It’s like falling in love — the experience of being free of self.
