OCTOBER282024

October 28, 2024 By Church Staff

You are fellow citizens with the holy ones and members of the household of God, built upon the foundation of the Apostles and prophets. In our creeds we name ourselves an “apostolic” faith. That is to say, the faith that we have in Jesus is the one which the apostles shared with us. Jesus himself left no writings, no record, no message expect in the lives of his followers. We are completely dependent on them for the saving faith we have in Jesus. That apparently is how the divine plan works — the faith is spread not by books or movies or shows but in the lives of those who have been changed because of Jesus. The founder of my religious community, Fr. Judge, shared as his motto: every Catholic is called to be an apostle. Just like the first generation of Christians, the witness of our lives lived in fidelity with the gospel is how the message of Jesus is spread.
