Jesus centered his ministry at the village on the Sea of Galilee named Capernaum. St. Luke showed Jesus as having the power to drive out the unclean spirits. The Bible portrays the demons as knowing about God. “I know who you are -– the Holy One of God!” Which tells us, that knowing about God is not sufficient; we must know God in a personal and intimate way. How to do that? Pope Gregory the Great provided an insight which has inspired mystics throughout the ages: age quod agis, do what you do. The Buddhist say something similar: be here now. Modern meditation techniques call it mindfulness. All these insights say the way to know God is to become aware of the presence of God in everything.
